I am a fan, a devoted fan, of Crème de Pamplemousse Rose from Combier. That’s grapefruit liqueur for here in America. This recipe comes from their website but I’ve changed the name to reflect the zing this cocktail provides. The base spirit is gin, although you could experiment with vodka either plain or flavored. Added to the gin is Aperol and the grapefruit liqueur. Plus some lime juice.
You can adjust the proportions here to suit you, substitute lemon juice, and even add a dash to two of sugar syrup. This recipe is very flavor forward: it pushes you right from the first sip. A delightful citrus push blended with the Aperol spices and color.
Your choice of gin will naturally have significant flavor impact. Suzi and I have become advocates of Hedricks.
