“You need to seal crackers up,” Suzen announced to me. The tone was a bit reprimanding. And I knew she was right but …

But, how often do you open the wax paper container for a box of crackers, often with a knife or scissors, and then struggle to seal the remaining crackers up. You cannot unscissor something. The crackers, or the chips, can get moist and limp. And unattractive to taste or just feel in your mouth.

The solution? Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread the orphaned crackers or chips on a cookies sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Bake for 3-4 minutes. You’ll want to taste test along the way.

It is salvation time.

You probably want to put those newly opened crackers into a plastic box that can be sealed air tight, but your oven is always your backup.
