This is post 3001 here at Suzi’s blog. That’s a big number and Suzi and I are delighted to have written so much for so long. Food blogs are intense work and crafting several hundred words a day, every day, can be a bit of a mountain. We are lucky to have millions of hits a year, many lovely comments, dozens of interesting questions and, yes, some occasional editorial comments. You’ve inspired us to try new things and we won’t stop the pace.
I want to thank all the cookbook authors, publishers and public relations firms for working with us. The world of cookbooks is exciting and filled with wonderful new avenues for us all to explore.
I’m trying to write about 12 times a week: 7 recipes and 5 cookbook reviews. We make about half the recipes ourselves, and photograph them, too. The other half come from the cookbooks we review and are recipes we believe will interest foodies. We wish we could test every single one, but as they say: so many recipes, so little time. From your responses, we know people look to us for ideas, cook them regularly, and enjoy them as much as we do.
If you enjoy this site, please tell folks. Pass the word on social media. We don’t have ads and may never go down that path. Our only reward is knowing that lots and lots people are reading and savoring what we create here.
My next goal? I’d like to get to 4,000 before the end of 2019. The ultimate goal? Well, golly, 10,000 seems like a great number. I’m going to try, fueled by a diet with appropriate amounts of rum and chocolate.
That cake? It is in Desserts by the Yard by Sherry Yard written back in 2007. We have five inches of snow here in our Catskill house but there is rumor of summer and strawberries. So, here’s the recipe for Sherry’s Strawberry and White Chocolate Buttermilk Cake. Bake away.
